Documents Required For Marriage Registration in Delhi

or Both Bride & Groom:

  1. Proof of Age (any one of the following):
    • Birth Certificate
    • School Leaving Certificate
    • Passport
    • PAN Card
    • Aadhaar Card
  2. Address Proof (any one of the following):
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Voter ID
    • Passport
    • Driving License
    • Utility Bills (electricity, water, etc.)
    • Ration Card
  3. Affidavit of Marriage (signed by both parties):
    • Declaring the date and place of marriage, marital status at the time of marriage, and affirming that there is no legal impediment to the marriage.
  4. Photographs:
    • Passport-sized photographs of both bride and groom.
    • Wedding photograph (optional in some states).
  5. Marriage Invitation Card (if available):
    • A copy of the wedding invitation card may be required.
  6. Witness Documents:
    • ID proof and address proof of three witnesses (e.g., Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport).
    • Witnesses must be adults and present during the registration process.
  7. Marriage Proof:
    • Wedding photo album
    • Certificate from the religious institution if the marriage was solemnized in a place of worship (ex- temple, mosque, church).
  8. Application Form:
    • Duly filled marriage registration application form (available online or at the registrar’s office).
  9. Marriage Solemnization Certificate:
    • If the marriage was conducted under a religious ceremony, a certificate/Document from the priest/ authorized person is Required.
